Installation Guide - Pixel LED Effects

Installation Guide

This guide will walk you through the complete process of downloading, extracting, and importing Pixel LED Effects packs into your LED controller software.

Prerequisites

Before you begin, ensure you have:

  • A computer with internet access
  • LED controller software installed (LedEdit, Jinx!, Glediator, etc.)
  • Sufficient disk space (at least 2.5GB for the basic pack)
  • Archive extraction software (WinRAR, 7-Zip, or built-in tools)

Step 1: Download the Effects Pack

  1. Navigate to the Download page
  2. Select your preferred Pixel LED Effects pack
  3. Click the “Download All Animations” button
  4. Choose your preferred format:
    • MP4 (recommended for most software)
    • AVI (compatible with LedEdit and other software)
    • SWF (web-based applications)
The download is a compressed ZIP file containing animation files in your chosen format.

Step 2: Extract the ZIP Archive

  1. Locate the downloaded ZIP file on your computer
  2. Right-click the file and select “Extract All” or “Extract Here”
  3. Choose a destination folder where you want to store the effects
  4. Wait for the extraction to complete (this may take several minutes)
Do not extract directly into your LED software’s program folder. Create a dedicated folder for your effects library.

The extracted folder will contain:

  • Individual animation files (MP4/AVI/SWF)
  • Organized subfolders by effect category
  • A README file with additional information

Step 3: Import into LED Controller Software

For LedEdit

  1. Open LedEdit software
  2. Go to File → Import → Video File
  3. Navigate to your extracted effects folder
  4. Select the desired animation file (.avi recommended)
  5. Choose your LED matrix/layout configuration
  6. Click Import and wait for processing
  7. Save your project

For Jinx! LED Software

  1. Launch Jinx! software
  2. Create a new project or open existing one
  3. Go to Media → Import Media
  4. Select Video Files from the dropdown
  5. Browse to your effects folder
  6. Select multiple files or import individually
  7. Configure the LED mapping settings
  8. Apply effects to your LED layout

For Glediator

  1. Open Glediator
  2. Go to File → Open Animation
  3. Navigate to your extracted folder
  4. Select the animation file
  5. Adjust the matrix size to match your LED setup
  6. Configure output settings for your controller

For Other Software (Resolume, MadMapper, etc.)

  1. Open your LED mapping software
  2. Look for Import Media or Add Video options
  3. Select the MP4 files from your effects folder
  4. Configure the video mapping to your LED layout
  5. Adjust playback settings as needed

Step 4: Configure and Test

  1. Set Loop Mode: Configure animations to loop seamlessly
  2. Adjust Timing: Set playback speed and duration
  3. Test Output: Send to your LED controller and verify display
  4. Fine-tune Mapping: Ensure effects align properly with your physical LEDs

Step 5: Organize Your Library

Create a well-organized effects library:

├── Pixel_LED_Pack_1/
│ ├── Waves/
│ ├── Fire_Effects/
│ ├── Geometric/
│ └── Color_Transitions/
├── Custom_Effects/
